Bahrain is ready for the Internet of Things according to a TRA Report

It will help Bahrain achieve a great IoT infrastructure in the country. It will also help them stay on top of the latest IoT trend.

In a recently published report titled, “Position Paper for the Internet of Things”, the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority identified key areas that will support the creation of a secure and safe IoT within the Kingdom. The paper covers licensing, resilience and licensing, as well as privacy and network and device security.

IoT is part of our digital transformation initiative, which aims to encourage the adoption of cutting edge technology by people, businesses, and residents throughout the Kingdom.

We all use IoT devices today in our homes and office. IoT will continue to grow rapidly, allowing a large number of devices that were previously not connected to communicate with one another and to share data between business sectors. “It has the potential to be a significant benefit to the Kingdom”, said TRA General Director Philip Marnick.

There are many challenges to overcome. The TRA position paper offers guidance to licensees, stakeholders and other interested parties to help them take advantage of the new IOT developments while maintaining safety and security. The TRA also made sure that the Kingdom’s regulatory framework continued to allow it to benefit from new technology developments – helping us to be a place where innovation can thrive.”
